Hi, I’m Tara

Person with long hair smiling in front of a gray brick wall wearing a light purple blouse.

I deeply value the relationships I build with my clients and strive to create a warm, welcoming space where you can bring your full, authentic self. I’m not the “blank slate” kind of therapist who just nods and asks “how does that make you feel?”. I show up as a real person — bringing curiosity, compassion, and humor into our time together.

As a recovering perfectionist and people-pleaser myself, I understand the struggle of constantly doing for others while feeling like it’s never enough. If you’re someone who puts everyone else’s needs first and still feels like you’re falling short — I see you, and I’d love to support you.

Together, we’ll work to quiet that loud inner critic and make space for more self-compassion. I especially enjoy working with clients who are insightful, motivated, and ready to create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

When I’m not wearing my therapist hat, you can find me outside hiking, running, or camping — or inside at a local coffee shop testing my caffeine tolerance. I’m an Enneagram 2 and an old soul who loves reading, game nights, and rewatching The Office or Parks & Rec for the hundredth time.

My Values

I am deeply committed to creating a space where clients of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, body sizes, and abilities feel safe, valued, and affirmed.

Grounded in my background in social work, I approach therapy through a systemic lens. This means understanding mental health as shaped by the interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors—and recognizing that we do not exist in a vacuum. It also means openly acknowledging the impact of oppressive systems, including racism, classism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia, and making space to explore how these forces shape lived experience.

My stance in therapy is one of curiosity and respect. You are the expert on your identities and experiences, and my role is to listen, learn, and understand their meaning and impact.

I welcome open and thoughtful dialogue. While we may hold different identities, experiences, or beliefs, I believe meaningful work happens when these differences are approached with openness, compassion, and care.
